GE Vernova Inc. (NYSE:GEV) will supply 17 onshore wind turbines for the Fortore wind farm in Benevento, Italy, following its selection by IVPC Group. The project, which surpasses 100 megawatts in capacity, was among the largest awarded in the December 2025 Gestore dei Servizi Energetici auction. Deliveries of GE Vernova’s 6.1 MW-158m turbines are slated to commence in the second quarter of 2027.
The turbines selected for the Fortore project are part of GE Vernova’s 6 MW platform and feature a specialized two-piece blade design. This design addresses the logistical challenges inherent in complex Italian sites, enhancing transportability while optimizing energy generation. The agreement also includes a tailored operations and maintenance model, enabling IVPC to collaborate directly on maintenance activities and offering the operator increased flexibility in managing the facility.
This new contract reinforces a long-standing relationship between GE Vernova and IVPC Group. It follows the recent installation of a similar turbine at the Montefalcone wind farm as part of a broader repowering initiative. GE Vernova Inc. (NYSE:GEV) currently contributes approximately 25% of Italy’s power capacity and continues to expand its operational footprint through its Center of Excellence located in Troia.
